On April 9, 2019, the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region jointly organized the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area Promotion Conference at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan, to promote the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area to global investors, especially the Japanese business community. Ma Xingrui, Governor of Guangdong Province, Lin Zhengyue, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Chen Haifan, Director of the Department of Administrative and Legal Affairs of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region attended the event and delivered keynote speeches.
The promotion attracted thousands of guests, including politicians, entrepreneurs and business leaders of the two countries.
